Satellite Radio Service: Why it is so Different from Regular Radio. by Tymone Oaklin
Most people out there who love to listen to the radio are in search of two things, good quality radio sound and getting what they want to hear. In listening to regular radio, you are lucky if you get to here your favorite songs played over and over hour after hour. However, consider this: for every hour of music you hear, you are going to hear about 2 hours or more of advertisements and commercials. So really you are listening in to hear advertisements and occasionally you will hear music that you enjoy. Or the other case scenario is that you are driving down the road, listening to your favorite talk radio show and all of a sudden, the signal is lost and you are left hanging without knowing how the show ends. Classic reasons why Satellite radio is now in the forefront of everyone’s radio enjoyment.
Quality of sound is what is most important to avid radio listeners. By quality of sound, we mean the clearness of the sound that you here when you turn on the radio. Quality can come from the receivers that are outputting the signal or they can come from the signal coming into the receiver. The quality of sound that is emitted from satellite radio is likened to that of listening to CD quality music. This is one of the big draws for people to go out and subscribe to satellite radio. Yes, I said subscribe. But don’t worry, satellite radio is not that pricey. For the cost of eating lunch out 2 times a week, you will be able to subscribe to satellite radio. The cost averages between 12 to 15 dollars a month for over 70 channels. Think about it, pack your lunch for two days and you can afford to get crystal clear, more accurate sounding music and programming. It will make it sound like you are almost sitting next to the performer.
So once you pay for the receiver and set up your monthly subscription service, you are on your way. You will enjoy hours of commercial free, excellent quality sound and uninterrupted programming no matter where you travel. What more could any avid radio listener want. Do your homework, figure out which receiver system that you want and sign up for the best listening of your life.

Design And Development Of Rfid And Rfid-Enabled Sensors On Flexible Low Cost Substrates $35 This book presents a step-by-step discussion of the design and development of radio frequency identification (RFID) and RFID-enabled sensors on flexible low cost substrates for UHF frequency bands. Various examples of fully function building blocks (design and fabrication of antennas, integration with ICs and microcontrollers, power sources, as well as inkjet-printing techniques) demonstrate the revolutionary effect of this approach in low cost RFID and RFID-enabled sensors fields. This approach could be easily extended to other microwave and wireless applications as well. The first chapter describes the basic functionality and the physical and IT-related principles underlying RFID and sensors technology. Chapter two explains in detail inkjet-printing technology providing the characterization of the conductive ink, which consists of nano-silver-particles, while highlighting the importance of this technology as a fast and simple fabrication technique especially on flexible organic substrates such as Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) or paper-based substrates. Chapter three demonstrates several compact inkjet-printed UHF RFID antennas using antenna matching techniques to match IC’s complex impedance as prototypes to provide the proof of concept of this technology. Chapter four discusses the benefits of using conformal magnetic material as a substrate for miniaturized high-frequency circuit applications.
